THE MANDATORY ANNUAL SHOWCASE WILL CONTINUE AS PLANNED ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH, 2021
LOCATION: WENTZVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
THIS IS A FULL DRESS REHEARSAL
Students will wear full costume, competition hair, tights, Team make-up, eye lashes & earrings. Bring ALL costumes, shoes and accessories. We will be running all competition routines, including solos, duets and trios. You should arrive in your first costume with hair/make-up done by 3:00 PM. You will be directed to your designated dressing area upon arrival. The showcase will begin at 3:30 PM. You will receive the showcase performance line-up in the next few days.
There will be two large spaces provided as dressing rooms. The costume check-list is attached to this e-mail. You are welcome to leave after you’ve finished all your routines, although we encourage everyone to stay and cheer on all performers.
This is a MANDATORY event and a great opportunity for the students to perform their competitive pieces before we hit the competition stage. This will take place off-site to utilize a larger floor and accommodate an audience.
Make sure to put your child’s name on every piece of costume they bring. This includes, shoes, shoe ties, make-up, etc. Be careful when writing inside thin costume material so it doesn’t bleed through. Look for a tag to write on if possible.
ATTENTION: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EATING OR DRINKING IN COSTUME. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS OF RED LIPSTICK OR OTHER MAKE-UP ON COSTUMES. WE RECOMMEND YOU BRING A LONG SHIRT, ROBE OR OTHER COVER UP.
Please pick up the dressing area before you leave. Put chairs and/or desks back where you found them and do not leave bobby-pins, trash, etc. on the floor.
WE WILL BE HOLDING REGULAR DANCE TEAM REHEARSALS ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST
We will be limiting spectators to 3 per family. Your child will receive 3 vouchers at Team rehearsal on Sunday, February 14th. If your child is absent due to quarantine or illness, you may pick up your voucher from the front desk the week of the showcase. *Face masks are required for ALL spectators. Dancers will not be required to wear face masks on stage or while changing costumes.*Temperatures will be taken at the door for all attendees.*Hand sanitizing stations will be available.*We ask that families sit socially distanced from one another.
BIG SISTER/BROTHER – LITTLE SISTER GIFT EXCHANGE
This day is also a Team bonding event and Big/Lil Sis/Bro gift exchange to wish them luck through the competition season! Be sure to cheer on and support each group and give a special shout out to your Big/Lil Sis or Bro. Gifts given should not exceed $15 – Ideas are…. Candy, stuffed animal, blanket, t-shirt, cups, pictures, gift cards etc…
Here is the tutorial for the Competition hair. This is how students will wear their hair for all competitive routines unless noted otherwise.
Reminder, we will not braid all the way down. The braids will lead into a low ponytail, which you will then put into a low bun. You will also need to use product such as gel & bobby pins to secure the bun and a hair net to avoid fly-aways.
Please make sure to practice this hairstyle before the showcase or recruit someone to help your child with this.
